High Quality Driver Training for Corporate and Individuals

Corporate Driver Training for People Who Drive for Work

Practical, professional driver training tailored to your organisation, your vehicles and the conditions your people actually encounter.

From metropolitan roads to rural properties, unsealed roads and remote environments, Olsen’s Tours & Training provides workplace driver training designed to improve driver judgement, vehicle control, confidence and risk awareness.

Safer Drivers. Better Decisions. Reduced Risk.

Driving is one of the most common risks faced by employees who travel for work.

A licence demonstrates that someone has met the minimum standard required to drive. It does not necessarily mean they have the practical skills, judgement or experience needed for the conditions they encounter in their job.

Our corporate driver training focuses on practical skills that can help employees:

Training for Organisations Whose People Drive as Part of Their Work

Our programs can be tailored for staff working across a wide range of industries and operating environments.

  • Agriculture and agronomy
  • Research organisations
  • Government departments and agencies
  • Utilities and infrastructure
  • Mining and resources
  • Construction and civil works
  • Environmental and field services
  • Community and not-for-profit organisations
  • Fleet operators
  • Employees travelling in regional and remote areas
  • Staff operating 4WD and light commercial vehicles

We have delivered driver training for corporate, government, research and field-based personnel, including agronomists and staff working in rural and operational environments.

Training That Reflects the Work Your People Actually Do

There is little value in putting employees through generic driver training that bears no resemblance to the vehicles, roads or situations they encounter at work.

We can tailor training around your organisation’s operational requirements, employee experience levels and vehicle fleet.

Low-Risk Road Driving

Practical techniques for hazard recognition, observation, positioning, speed management and decision-making.

Rural & Unsealed Road Driving

Vehicle control and risk management on gravel, loose surfaces and regional roads.

4WD Driver Training

Practical four-wheel-drive skills for employees who need to operate vehicles beyond sealed-road environments.

Reversing & Manoeuvring

Improve low-speed control, spatial awareness and vehicle placement.

Vehicle Familiarisation

Training for staff who are unfamiliar with larger vehicles, 4WDs or different fleet vehicles.

Remote-Area Preparation

Driver and vehicle considerations for staff travelling beyond metropolitan areas and immediate support.

This Is Practical Driver Training

Our focus is not simply on completing a course.

The aim is to identify weaknesses, improve practical driving skills and give participants techniques they can use every time they get behind the wheel.

Training can include assessment of existing driving habits and practical coaching in areas such as:

  • Observation and hazard recognition
  • Following distance and space management
  • Cornering and vehicle positioning
  • Braking technique
  • Speed selection
  • Reversing
  • Low-speed manoeuvring
  • Driving on gravel and loose surfaces
  • 4WD operation where required
  • Vehicle recovery principles where appropriate
  • Driver attitude and decision-making

Programs can be adapted to suit individual employees, small groups or larger organisational requirements.

Driver Training Experience Since 2004

Olsen’s Tours & Training has been delivering practical driver training since 2004.

Our experience includes training people who drive for work in corporate, government, agricultural, research and field environments.

We understand that workplace driver training has different objectives from recreational training. Employers need people who can operate vehicles competently, exercise sound judgement and manage risk when they are away from direct supervision.

Training has included professional and field personnel such as agronomists and research staff, including personnel at the CSIRO Cotton Research Centre.

Practical Workplace Training Without Unnecessary Complexity

Olsen’s Tours & Training provides practical workplace driver training and assessment.

We are not a Registered Training Organisation.
We have previously operated within an RTO structure, so we understand the requirements and limitations of nationally recognised training. Our current approach gives us greater flexibility to tailor programs around the actual vehicles, operating environments, risks and experience levels of each organisation. In our experience, this can deliver better practical outcomes for employers who have found that standardised training does not always address the specific needs of their people.

For organisations that do not require a nationally recognised competency, this allows us to concentrate on the practical skills, risks and operating conditions that are relevant to your employees.

Training content can be discussed with your organisation before delivery so that the program reflects your objectives.

Tell Us What Your Drivers Need to Do

The best place to start is with a conversation.

Tell us:

  • What vehicles your employees use
  • Where they drive
  • The experience level of your staff
  • The risks or incidents you are trying to address
  • Whether they operate on sealed roads, gravel roads, properties or off-road
  • How many people require training
  • Where the training needs to be delivered

We can then discuss a program suited to your organisation rather than trying to force your employees into a standard recreational course.

Discuss Your Corporate Driver Training Requirements

If your employees drive as part of their work, we can help you develop practical training around the vehicles, conditions and risks they actually encounter.
